Well, in this case the person is only eligible for an emergency coverage for pregnancy-related complications such as abdominal pain, bleedings as well as miscarriage. Such plan will cover emergencies up to 31 weeks only from the moment an insured person got pregnant. Unfortunately, pre-natal care and delivery will not be covered. No Canadian insurance company covers delivery. Only provincial health coverage may cover you for that. Regular visitors, who are already pregnant and coming to Canada will have to cover their expenses for delivery themselves. As a regular visitor, who is already pregnant you are not eligible for a private insurance with greater maternity benefits as well as you are not allowed to be covered by province due to your current status in Canada. It is a bit odd, but these are the rules.
