Visitors to Canada Medical Insurance Questions from Buyers

Dear Mr. Arbetov,

I found your website while I was searching for medical insurance for visitors to Canada. I am a student, studying in Vancouver, BC right now. A relative of mine is going to visit Canada, but she’s pregnant and since she will be staying here for a few months, there is a possibility that she’ll have her baby here. She’s just a visitor so she has to buy private medical insurance and I was wondering if there are any plans she can purchase to cover her costs in case she has to give birth to her child in Canada.

Thank you very much,

Dear Saba,

Thank you for the letter. Unfortunaly, there is no baby delivery insurance. It is not an emergency. It is natural event.

New immigrant insurance

There is no best insurance company. All of them are almost the same.
The difference is in prices and in coverages.
They reduce their prices time to time. This is why it is so difficult to choose the cheapest one.
The cheapest one today won't be the the ceapest one tomorrow.
There are different situations for all visitors to Canada and new immigrants.
It is why there is something unique and the best.
You can check online which company covers best your insurance needs.
If you buy Manulife before arrival day you will be covered from the day you arrive.
The coverage 200,000 can be offered today by TIC only (as on Nov 7, 2010)
Travel Underwritersoffers the coverage up to the age 89.
